Creative License Friday #7

This beautiful flower-image is captured by Gail @ Louisiana Belle -
I admire the a lovely light / bokeh; meaning the circles of light in the middle of the photo!

The photo took me to an afternoon tea party in  an romantic English garden in the early 1900s ...
I wanted to create a vintage-style photo, bringing a feeling of looking back to a nostalgic memory.

I added extra color / saturation to the photo, then I desaturated it totally, brushing the flowers so the color came back on them. Thereafter I added an old vintage-brown and red in Pixrl, and a Craquelure Cavalier texture from French Kiss, together with a signature stamp.

Creative License Friday #6

Thank you SueAnn {from SueAnn's Journey} for providing this weeks image to Creative License Friday hosted by She Who Carries Camera.

Looking at the picture for the first time made me think about an old and faded photo, I once saw. I found this old paper texture from Mellowmint, and added the edited version of SueAnn's windmill on it... Cherishing old books!

Creative License Friday #5

This lovely scenery from the Brooklyn Bridge is taken by Lissa, who kindly shared her photo  with Creative License Friday #5, hosted by She Who Carries Camera.

To magnify the beautiful sky and the silhuette of the city, I desaturated the colors and & added a warm vintage shade to everything else but the sky, and added 3 sky-textures from Nancy Clayes.

A new meme with a new photo starts tomorrow at

Creative License Friday #4

original image

This weeks photography for Creative License Friday, a meme hosted by She Who Carries Camera, is provided by Kerrie.

The beautiful texture in the skin of Kerrie's lizards caught my eye, and I wanted to enforce it in some way. I did this by adding  borrowing skin from another reptile... Kerri's lizard got "a coat" from a Green Iguana from Copenhagen Zoo, the texture provided by the courtesy of Keld Bach.

My version

I found a lovely rock texture by L.C. Nøttaasen, by googling "free rock textures". This texture enchanges the rock just a bit, adding a few yellow spots.  Thereafter I adjusted the levels and curves via GIMP, and added a bit vintage effect via Pixrl Express.

Creative License Friday #3

This weeks photo in Creative License Friday is submitted by Nancy from The Gift of A Moment. Seing this beautiful scenery made me wish to find my self sitting on this brick wall early in the morning ... watching the first rays of sun rising behind the hills.

I desaturated the original photo, added then a vintage-like brown Shades, and a texture from Lenabem-Anna.

When you arise in the morning,
think of what a precious priviledge it is to be alive
- to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love.

Creative License Friday #2

This weeks beautiful photo in Creative License Friday is submitted by Cathy. I fell for the shiny reflections of sunlight in Cathys photo, and I felt like playing with these reflections in some way.

Using a texture from Lenabem-Anna (I found Anna's textures by a co-bloggers creative editing at last weeks Creative License Friday), I enchanged the sunlight to moonlight. The moon in Anna's texture is positioned such in a way that it suits to the reflections on the water in Cathy's photo.

I enchanged the tones a bit, softened the image lightly and added some vignet-effect in Picmonkey ... trying to be careful not to over-edit, beholding a bit of the oli canvas-like texture.

A poem from Christina Rosetti fits to athmospehere of the moonlight ...

Is the moon tired? she looks so pale
Within her misty veil:
She scales the sky from east to west,
And takes no rest.
Before the coming of the night
The moon shows papery white;
Before the dawning of the day
She fades away.
