To part is the lot of mankind. The world is a scene of constant leave-taking,
and the hands that grasp in cordial greeting today,
are doomed ere long to unite for the last time,
when the quivering lips pronounce the word - 'Farewell'.

Sit with me in the shade of these green trees,
which have no weightier thought than
the withering of their leaves when autumn arrives,
or the stretching of their many stiff fingers
into the cold sky of the passing winter.

From time to time, to remind ourselves to relax and be peaceful, we may wish to set aside some time for a retreat, a day of mindfulness, when we can walk slowly, smile, drink tea with a friend, enjoy being together as if we are the happiest people on Earth.

My One Word for 2014, Unhurried, has been a wonderful companion throughout this year. It has taken me to places of rest and quietness. It has helped me to slow down, and to focus on the things that matter most.
I am grateful for all the moments, people, places, challenges, surprises ... in my daily life and here in blogging fellowships. I am thankful for each of my friends here on blog space, for having travelled along - sharing, inspiring and popping by ...
Thank you for having been a part of my year - It wouldn't have been the same without you!
As we already have entered into 215,
I am wishing you a Happy New Year -
With new adventures and moments to unfold!
Nina
Happy New Year, dear Nina!
ReplyDeleteA year in 12 photographs. It gives more weight to the use of the days, I think. 365 days distilled into just 12 moments.
Do you have a watchword for 2015? I was surprised to find Our Lord giving me one, as He usually does not. The word is Movement. Uh-oh! LOL!
Love, m & jb
Hi Maureen,
DeleteI have also gotten a word for 2015 - Simplify... I look forward of seeing what it brings along - as well as following alongside you and your companion Movement - let's keep up with one another & our words!
Beautiful images Nina, I really must look into getting an iPhone! Unhurried is a lovely word for 2015. Have a very Happy New Year xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Chel - iPhone is handy since it's so small and it easy to carry around :-)
DeleteHappy New Year to you!
What a great review of your year! Many blessings into the new year!
ReplyDeleteThank you Sarah, Happy New Year to you, my friend!

Your word was certainly reflected in your beautiful photos from last year; so peaceful and serene. I look forward to seeing and hearing from you as your word and year unfold....Many blessings to you sweet girl....
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Nina. That March photo looks like a painting and would make a beautiful canvas or greeting card. Great year in review.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, just like you, Nina! May your new year be full of God's sweet grace and His precious blessings. Hugs to you!
ReplyDeleteNina, not only do you inspire me on Instagram but also on here. Now I shall start adding to my blog again 😀 Steve xx
ReplyDeleteI want to preface this by telling you had NO idea what your 2014 "word" was until this post. BUT, one of the reasons I always love visiting here is because your photography has such a relaxed, easy, "unhurried" feel to it. It's like exhaling. So mission accomplished in letting your 2014 word inspire you.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful selection to highlight your word so beautiful A Happy New Year to you and yours...
