Reflections on light and life

I've enjoyed finding new perspectives on everyday life through Tracey Clark's class Picture everyday. The light reflecting on the blue glasses caught my eye while I was emptying the dishwasher Saturday morning.

Our local library has a cozy atmosphere - the light is so mild and soft.

My favorite reading seating is the corner sofa, with a blanket over my feet.

The afternoon light falling on wide windowsills does reveal the nice texture.

This reflection is from this morning, as I saw the clouds on my tea ...
It's been a good day :)

Happy weekend wishes,

Nina

Yellows and Greens of the Forest

We've had both sunny and rainy days this week - As we took a walk (that is, I walked, my hubby and our son ran) in the forest, I realized that
our oldest son is taller than my husband!

A light breeze was blowing, scattering the leaves in the path ...

"... and the leaves were telling secrets to the wind".
Peter Mulvey

The other night I was wide awake until 3 am. Just watching and following the soft moonligt forming shades and shadows to the wall ... and appreciating the small and big mirales taking place in the everyday life :)

Now I'm going to make a pot of tea and grab a book ...

... Wishing you a Happy Weekend,

Nina

On flowers, hope and friendship

"I'd rather have roses on my table than diamonds on my neck."
  Emma Goldman

"Where flowers bloom so does hope."
 Lady Bird Johnson

... My friend is moving -
I'm happy for her and her familys new adventure,
but at the same time I will miss her.

Our walks in the neighborhood,
the moments in her garden,
the shared life together:
Ups and downs,
laughter, tears and prayers
- Always with a cup of tea!

At the same time I know,
that we'll keep seing one another -
there will be walks in a her neighborhood.

Life shared is life cherished:
The moments shared are hidden in our hearts.

So long as the memory of certain beloved friends
lives in my heart,
I shall say that life is good.

Helen Keller

I see something blue ...

Saturday was warm and sunny - what made it even more special was that
I met up with a good friend for coffee.

I enjoyed biking through the city - sunshine has an energizing effect!

This week has been busy at work - I'm so ready for the weekend ...

After work this Friday we'll have a get together with colleques:
We'll walk a tour in that ends in this little cafe in the forest :)

I look forward of the Picture Everyday-class with Tracey Clark,
that starts on Monday!

Happy soon to be weekend to you!

Trust Him

Open up before God, keep nothing back;
he’ll do whatever needs to be done:
He’ll validate your life in the clear light of day
and stamp you with approval at high noon.

Shades of September

I've enjoyed watching the clouds against a lightblue sky, while driving to work this week, wishing I had taken my camera with me -
the 40 minutes drive has been a pleasure each way.

Warm evenings continue - we walked in the forest walks twice this week.

At the evening sunlight hits the fields, the grass gets a beautiful golden glow.

“Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.”

Albert Camus

The evenings are getting darker -
the sun is setting  allready around 8 pm.

Let's cherish the Shades of September
this weekend!

Autumn Roses {WW}

Textures: Appreciate and Mixed by Kim Klassen, Rosy Script by French Kisses

Beaming bright across the galaxies,
Your petals extend through heavens gate.
You waited until now to reveal yourself,
For the world it was worth the wait.

For autumn is your awakening,
While the world prepares for winter's sleep.
Summer has quickly slipped away,
While your colors of coral run deep.

Textures: Appreciated, Rue & Mixed by Kim Klassen

Some think age is upon you,
But truth is you are now fulfilled.
You blossomed into life in maturity,
Before the north wind chill.

Soon the golden fields will be covered,
In a virgin blanket of snow.
The streams will freeze then re-awake,
For the beautiful autumn rose.

Hold On

Consider it a sheer gift, friends,
when tests and challenges come at you from all sides.
You know that under pressure,
your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors.
So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely.
Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed,
not deficient in any way.
