Replacing a carpet

In between was emptying the book shelves,
carrying them out together with the table, chairs & sofa...

Finished!
(That is  - almost ... We just need to carry
the furniture & all the books back :)

  2. Looks so nice. I am jealous - I am still trying to get my act together to get the bathroom painted and I'd almost give my right and left arms for new carpet upstairs. One day!

    1. I know the feeling of thinking that one should start dong / get going on ... We've been talking about it the last 6 months, but one day has taken another, until it finally came about - exactly, one day!

    1. Yes it was, we opened all the windows and it was a windy day, but still one could feel the dust everywhere... But that's just a half day - and the end result is worth it :)

  6. We had to do an unexpected carpet replacement after a mishap & some flooding in a couple of years ago.. messy job!
Currently we're planning to sand the wood floors in our living room.. like you, we'll be moving bookshelves & furniture.
In most home improvements, we have to make things a bit messier before they are made better! :)

    1. Floor work does indeed take time & effort due to moving if the furniture ... Maybe that's the reason one keeps putting it off ... But once done, you appreciate all the work since the end result is so nice :) Sanding the floor will give afresh look - sometimes one leaves them natural here, but it includes a lot of care (washing with brown soap etc.) , other times one uses varnish to keep them ... Either way, it's a big work but also a great improvement :)
